He attended basic violin courses at the Music School of Gorizia, then at the Staatliche Hochschule für Musik in Vienna with G. Feist, a student of O. Ševc̆ík. From 1916 to 1918, he attended the courses of the Department of Musical Philosophy and Sciences of G. Adler and E. Wellesz, a student of A. Schönberg. He obtained a violin diploma at the Conservatory “G. Verdi” in Milan, then he went back to Vienna in 1921 to attend the master classes of violin and composition at the Academie für Musik und darstellende Kunst, held by E. Mandyczewski, a friend of J. Brahms, and orchestra direction from F. Schalk, a student of A. Bruckner. In 1927, he became director of the Symphonic Orchestra of Abbazia, from 1930 to 1961 he was director of the Gorizia Musical Institute and from 1961 to 1974 he was president of the International Choral Singing Contest “C.A. Seghizzi”. He is the author of compositions, reviews, elaborations and fundamental pedagogical works for violin.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003e\u003cstrong\u003eFlavio Quali\u003c\/strong\u003e, violinist and composer from Gorizia, attended musical studies at the Conservatories “G. Tartini” in Trieste and “J. Tomadini” in Udine, and attended master classes of Choral Conducting and Vocal Technique held by world-famous Maestros, among whom: Samuil Vidas (Bulgaria), Nicola Conci (Italy) and Jstvar Parkaj (Hungary). He teaches Violin, Theory, Rhythm and Musical Perception, Harmony Theory and Analysis in several Musical Institutes in the region Friuli-Venezia Giulia. He is both a teacher and a composer.
