META WORK. Michelangelo Pistoletto alla Reggia di Caserta

Over 60 works by the Piedmontese artist Michelangelo Pistoletto are the stars of this major contemporary art exhibition housed in the rooms of the Grand Gallery of the Reggia di Caserta.

The "Metawork" exhibition is named after the work "Metawork-United Portraits," which was presented for the first time during the exhibition. Created from the photographic portraits of eight citizens of Cittadellarte, it successfully recombines them using an artificial intelligence program. This transition, characteristic of Pistoletto's work in the Quadri specchianti series, shifts from an individual to a collective dimension. The catalog also includes works on various themes, such as the relationship between art and spirituality. Among the most significant works are Love Difference, Messa a nudo from 2020, and Divisione Moltiplicazione – Terzo Paradiso, in addition to Labirinto, an emblematic work of Arte Povera, particularly notable for its use of cardboard.
