This has been the premise of the COMBAT PRIZE, now in its ninth edition, for the past years, creating a tool suited to making an important contribution on the Italian art scene, offering continuity in format, intent and function, to advance and give exposure in the best way possible to artists and their competitiveness on the art market, allowing us to anticipate and discover new talents before the art world establishment.\u003cbr \/\u003eOver the years, exhibitions, residences, encounters, projects and monographs have accompanied the nine editions of the COMBAT PRIZE and have established an important archive that has helped to build a constant and authoritative cultural identity. In fact, I firmly believe that only through research, experimentation and spreading awareness can contemporary art continue with its beneficial expansion. I am also convinced that only the languages and practices of quality contemporary art of recognised value can support its disclosure.\u003cbr \/\u003eIn these years, an important role has been played by the City Administration of Livorno, which has consistently encouraged the project and, through one of its most prestigious venues – the Museo Civico G. Fattori – has hosted the contest and its projects. The Museum has thus bolstered its mission, whose foundation consists in training, programming and openness to all art forms, with special care for those that unfold over extended periods of time. My sincere gratitude goes out to them.\u003cbr \/\u003e\u003cbr \/\u003eI would also like to thank all the artists who have taken part in the previous editions and the approximately 1,200 artists from fifty countries who have distinguished this ninth edition.
