Una lettura delle argenterie sacre tra Cinque e Seicento alla luce delle nuove attenzioni liturgiche frutto delle riflessioni del Concilo di Trento e di prelati d'eccezione come San Carlo Borromeo. Attraverso alcuni oggetti esemplari conservati in chiese e musei toscani, l'arte orafa testimonia un intreccio culturale di respiro internazionale. Tra le opere prese in esame ci sono lavori di Wenzel Jamnitzer, di Pierre Ballin e degli stranieri "italianizzati" Baldassarre Morovella e Luigi de' Lani.
