Payment systems

www.sillabe.it accepts three different payment methods for purchases from its editorial catalogue:

  • Credit card
  • PayPal
  • Mark

Credit card and Paypal

Sillabe uses a tool that allows merchants to sell and/or purchase products and/or services online using secure credit card payments.

The operating scheme involves the involvement of four actors:

  1. Buyer
  2. Technical/operator structure (Syllables)
  3. Intesa San Paolo
  4. International authorization circuits Visa or Paypal

1. The buyer visits the virtual store's website and decides to purchase one or more products, paying by credit card. They will have to fill out a form, which will ask for all the information the merchant needs to fulfill the order (name, address, etc.). The virtual store's summary page identifies:

  • All (NON-SENSITIVE) order identification data;
  • the order total;

2. Sensitive data (name and credit card number) is entered only in encrypted form and therefore in secure mode (the Intesa San Paolo server is a secure server with 128-bit encryption), thus guaranteeing complete security in the transmission of the data and complete protection for the buyer. THE SEND ORDER BUTTON IS ASSOCIATED WITH A SPECIAL SCRIPT THAT DIRECTS THE BUYER AND THE PAGE WITH ALL THE DATA ENTERED BY THE BUYER TO THE PAYMENT PAGE RESIDENT ON A SECURE SERVER OF Cassa di Risparmio di Firenze.

3. Intesa San Paolo collects the transaction data (card details and amount) and enters them into the international authorization circuits. ENTERING THE INTERNATIONAL AUTHORIZATION CIRCUITS IS CARRIED OUT IN THE SAME WAY AS TRANSACTIONS CARRIED OUT AT REAL POS SYSTEMS, WHICH HAVE BEEN WIDELY TESTED TO GUARANTEE CONTINUITY OF SERVICE IN ACCORDANCE WITH MARKET STANDARDS.

4. The institution that issued the card is contacted through international circuits and, if the authorization request is approved or denied, the response is communicated to Intesa San Paolo;

5. The Intesa San Paolo server redirects the buyer to the technical department's server; this way, the buyer is presented with a response page (prepared by the technical department according to the store's editorial style) that informs them whether their order is confirmed or not;

6. At the same time, the Intesa San Paolo server sends two emails: one to the merchant and one to the buyer, summarizing the transaction data (store ID, transaction date and time, amount, outcome). No financial transactions occur during the steps described above: the card is simply verified (existence, validity, and available funds) and the transaction amount is deducted from the card's balance; the cardholder is not charged, and the merchant is not credited.
