Banksy. Peace on Earth*

‘The first exhibition in Assisi, IN THE ICONIC MONUMENT OF THE CITY, THE ROCCA MAGGIORE, of one of the most famous exponents of street art in the world: Banksy’.

Banksy, on the scene since the 1970s, not unlike other modern-day street artists, entrusts his thoughts to art.

But unlike other artists he has never come out of the closet, apart from sporadic forays into the world's most famous museums such as the Met in New York, the Louvre in Paris and the British Museum in London. So much so that his character has become a true Myth.

The exhibition Peace on Earth brings together around 100 silkscreen works by the British artist including the well-known Girl with Balloon, Love Is In the Air, Pulp Fiction, Monkey Queen and Bomb Love, reflecting the social function of art and its power of emotional communication in representing the world in its various forms.

The catalogue, edited by Stefano Antonelli and Gianluca Marziani, the artist's leading experts, presents large-format colour images, also enriched by works by authors close to Banksy.
