The discovery of a masterpiece of the Bolognese sixteenth century
The volume illustrates the incredible acquisition made by the Uffizi Galleries of one of the masterpieces of the Bolognese painter Bartolomeo Passerotti thanks to Angela Ghirardi, the scholar who has been following his tracks.
The painting has been carefully restored and exhibited in the well-known Florentine museum.
The rich and dense iconography presented in the volume makes it a book to be read even with the eyes.
Authors such as Vera Fortunati, Federico Condello, Marzia Faietti, Donatella Fratini, Roberto Bellucci and Eike D. Schmidt offer us with their essays the opportunity to get to know the environment and culture in which Passerotti lived, was educated and has produced his interesting works.
