The book brings together over 350 black and white photographs selected from the Piero Ligabue Archive, accompanied by the words of Luca Luchini, who has been able to recall many aspects of Sienese life between the 19th and 20th centuries in a captivating style.
The elegant volume is subdivided into chapters, each one dedicated to a fundamental theme to fully understand the city of Siena in those decades, from the economy to social welfare, from education to sport, from the road system to politics, from the world of women to entertainment.
Never was a title more fitting. Luca Luchini, had the good fortune of being able to keep an eye on the precious collections of 'great-grandfather' Giuseppe Partini, editor of the legendary 'Il Libero Cittadino'; while Piero Ligabue magically extracted from the family archives the photographs taken by 'great-grandfather' Alessandro Bonelli.
