I Medici, il Verrocchio e Pistoia
Il libro è dedicato al restauro esemplare di due opere significative della cattedrale di San Zeno a Pistoia: il monumento funebre al Cardinale Niccolò Forteguerri e la Sacra Conversazione con San Giovanni Battista e San Donato, detta La Madonna di Piazza. Il recupero conservativo ed estetico della eccezionale testimonianza della scultura fiorentina del Quattrocento, uscito per la massima parte dalla bottega, e in una limitata ma eccelsa parte dalla mano di Andrea del Verrocchio, è tra gli ultimi frutti della lunga stagione di operosità culturale che ha caratterizzato a Firenze e in Toscana l'inizio degli anni Novanta, con la manifestazione per il centenario della morte di Lorenzo il Magnifico.
