Museum of San Marco - Florence. Masterpiece and more
A wide photo book describes the Museum of San Marco, Michelozzo's architectural masterpiece, which is located in the monumental part of an ancient Dominican convent and owes its fame especially to the presence of numerous works by Fra Angelico. Scrolling through the pages of the book will be like "setting out" on a journey to discover the great masterpieces of Fra Angelico, but also those of Fra Bartolomeo, Alessio Baldovinetti and Domenico Ghirlandaio. An introductory text written by Marilena Tamassia, director of the Museum, prepare the reader for the visit, and tells us about the vicissitudes of the convent, which, as evidenced by the story of Girolamo Savonarola who chose it as his residence, played an important role in the religious and cultural
life of the city.
